So I was at Chrysler’s at Carlisle this summer and I was in line to spin the wheel and get some dodge swag. They were doing some trivia stuff to win a chair, and the announcer said, what makes the air grabber scoop work? So I yelled out “Vacuum” and won my free chair. Of course he had other chairs to give out so his next question was, on the new hellcat, what are those holes in the headlight called. I resisted yelling “Air Catchers” as I already had a chair. Eventually someone figured it out and then he said this... “Yeah that’s right, Air Catcher, I always wondered why they didn’t use the air grabber name... If I told you why, they probably wouldn’t invite me back .“
That’s right people. We’re going to see the air grabber hood again. Speculation as to on what? I’m guessing maybe the new ‘Cuda.

Wondering what type of fancy air-trickery they’re going to use to get the air from the top of the engine to either the front or the back. It’s not like they can just cut a hole in the hood and have the intake right there like the old days.

This is awesome. I always wanted to go to Chryslers at Carlisle, but never had the time or money to make the three-hour drive. Maybe next year.
Also, a chair? That’s pretty cool. Dodge has some of the coolest merch.
For example, this Dodge ball. It’s literally a dodgeball with the Dodge logo.

You can get an aftermarket intake that does it for challengers (I have one). Routes air right down over the front of the engine.

I can’t find pictures of it but I think the shaker hood on the current Challengers is apparently functional.

I do not think it’s functional, considering the Challenger engine has a
front-mounted TB and there’s already an air cleaner under the hood.

That’s pretty neat, but is that air cleaner large enough haha? I was under the impression that the factory shaker hoods are just for looks, considering there’s another air cleaner under the hood.

Yeah its got the same flow rating as stock.
I got that one because it was functional (and it wasn’t too much more expensive then getting my hood fixed from some damage). I talked to them about, asking about airflow. They didn't lie about it adding performance, but I am sure it doesn't hurt.

The grille area in Challengers is pretty much a perfectly placed scoop. It should be the place where air pressure is at the highest. Anything placed on the hood is unlikely to crab more air.
They could have crabbed the intake air through some grille opening too but I guess they wanted to have some interesting looking opening.
Why not air sucker? Air cannot be physically grabbed or caught but sucking should be possible.
“With Air Sucker your car will suck air more than any other car in the world!”
Yes, I’m bad with anything related to marketing.

It’s a blast. The chair is pretty great too lol. Typical bag chair.
